About

A small studio that builds like a product team

MinneLabWorks exists because good software rarely needs a big agency. It needs a few senior people who understand the business, stay close to the work, and ship.

Our story

We started MinneLabWorks after years of watching good projects stall inside large agencies — three layers of account management, a rotating cast of contractors, and six weeks of discovery before a single line of code.

So we built the opposite. A senior-only studio, deliberately small, where the people on your first call are the people writing your software. We take on a handful of engagements at a time, which is what lets us move in weeks instead of quarters.

Most of our work is unglamorous and load-bearing: the platform that bills a thousand homeowners, the app a driver opens two hundred times a day, the tool a production crew runs a live show from. That's the software we like building.

What we hold to

Ship fast

Working software beats a polished plan. We aim for something usable in weeks, then improve it in the open.

Build to last

Typed code, real tests, documented systems. The goal is a codebase your next hire can extend, not inherit and rewrite.

Direct communication

You talk to the builders. Estimates come with the reasoning, and bad news arrives early.

No fluff

No pitch decks about synergy, no features nobody asked for. If something isn't worth building, we'll say so.

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Built in Minnesota. Working nationwide.

We're based in the Twin Cities and work remotely with clients across the country. If you're local, we'll meet in person — coffee, whiteboard, the whole thing. If you're not, you'll get the same weekly working build either way.

Have a project in mind? Let's talk.

Tell us what you're building. You'll hear back from the people who would actually build it — usually within one business day.
